Screenshots often show more than you meant to share: an e-mail address, an account number, a colleague's face. QuickCapture finds these for you and covers them, and its blur really destroys the pixels underneath.
Step by step
Capture and open the editor
Press PrintScreen, select the area, then press E to open it in the editor.
Run auto redact
Click “Auto redact”. It finds e-mail addresses, phone, ID, card and account numbers, IP addresses and faces, and covers them with a mosaic. Everything is processed on this PC.
Cover anything else by hand
Choose the Blur or Mosaic tool and drag over names, addresses or anything else you want hidden.
Check, then save or copy
Look over the result; Ctrl+Z undoes a step. When you save or copy, the covered pixels are replaced, so nobody can reverse the blur from the file.
Tips
- Crop away parts you do not need; cropped pixels are gone too
- Automate it: a workflow can redact every capture that matches a rule
- Check small text by eye; automatic detection can miss unusual formats
Questions and answers
Can someone un-blur my screenshot?
Not from the saved file. The blur and mosaic tools replace the original pixels, so the hidden information is no longer in the image.
Does auto redact upload my screenshot?
No. Text and face detection run on your PC. Nothing is sent anywhere.
